- The AMP Medical Physics Residency Program, in Jacksonville, FL, offers a rigorous and competitive admissions process for one resident per year. The program is designed for highly motivated candidates who have completed a Master's or Ph.D. in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited institution, or completed a Ph.D. in a related field with a Certificate in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program. Applicants should demonstrate a strong foundation in the principles of medical physics, along with a passion for advancing their expertise in radiation oncology.
- The application package requires the following documents:
1. Downloadable Residency Application: Basic contact details and background information.
2. Academic History: Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, demonstrating the completion of required coursework.
3. Curriculum Vitae (CV): A comprehensive CV outlining your academic achievements, work experience, and any relevant research or internships.
4. Personal Statement: A thoughtful statement that highlights your career goals, motivation for applying to the CAMP residency, and what you hope to achieve during the program.
5. Letters of Recommendation: At least two letters from professors or professionals who can speak to your qualifications and potential as a medical physicist.
- The residency starts annually in April, with the first resident selected for radiation oncology beginning in 2025. The selection process is highly competitive, and applicants will be evaluated based on their academic qualifications, clinical potential, personal statements, and recommendations.
- As part of the process, finalists may be invited for interviews to assess their fit within the program. During the interview, candidates will meet with faculty, engage in discussions about their experiences and aspirations, and learn more about the residency structure and expectations.
- For further details or any questions about the admissions process, prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the program coordinator Sheena Mani at [email protected]
